Residential Services

Group Training Homes

The Center's group training homes provide intensive, community-based habilitation for individuals with mental retardation, who without residential care would be at risk for referral to a State Developmental Center. Training focuses on personal, social, community living, and basic life skills. The purpose of a group training home is to teach independent living skills to individuals who would otherwise require help with everyday tasks, and to teach individuals more appropriate adaptive behaviors in an effort to minimize maladaptive behaviors.

Residential Care Homes

The Center's residential care homes are time limited, community-based programs for individuals who without residential care would be at risk for psychiatric hospitalization and/or institutionalization as a result of a serious mental illness. The purpose of these homes is to provide social, supportive, and rehabilitative services which are designed to assist in stabilizing an individual's mental illness while promoting psychosocial rehabilitation and increasing independent living skills in a home-like atmosphere. Consumers receive ongoing training in basic living skills that will allow them to transition to a less restrictive setting.

Supervised Community Living Homes (SCLH)

The Center's supervised community living homes are community-based programs for individuals with mental retardation who do not require the more specialized training, structure, and intensive services provided in a group training home. Consumers require 24-hour supervision and assistance with improving/maintaining adaptive living skills and the services provided address the consumer's unique health, social, and daily living needs.

Supported Housing

The Center provides supported housing services for adults who have a serious mental illness diagnosis. Supported housing services includes case management, basic living skill training, and outpatient services.

Foster Care

The Center provides foster care services for consumers living in an apartment complex and contracts with a local private home provider for the provision of adult foster care.
